The pre-requisite courses include Survey of Interior Design (IND 2002) and Design Fundamentals I and II (IND 1203 & 1204). There is no entry portfolio requirement to apply to FSU or the program, but students are formally accepted into the program after taking pre-requisite courses in the major and passing the First Year Review. The Department of Interior Architecture & Design at Florida State University is a “limited access” major, which means that demand for the bachelor’s degree exceeds the capacity of the Department and thus, only a portion of students that apply are accepted. Contacting the department at least three to four semesters in advance is recommended. All students, including transfer students, must contact the Department Advisor in the Major in order to reserve a space in the pre-requisite classes. See University Admissions for more details. The department is not involved in university admissions. Students must be admitted to the university prior to acceptance into the program. For more information about NCIDQ Exam eligibility visit.
